This day out at Bad Fork Valley Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I brought this elongated panel to paint a horizontal landscape and then, in the morning's happenings, I upended earlier plans and the painting became something closer to an abstract on the day's light and distant mountains. A fun and unexpected 'turn' on the day.
